I just finished assembling this long neck for Jim George.  He sent me the Gold Tone neck and had Bill Rickard send me the all brass hardware.  I made him a 12 inch walnut block rim with a granadillo tone ring layer.  I think a 12 inch pot assembly balances the long neck better than an 11 inch.  It will be shipped this afternoon.



This is the second left hander that I've set up for Jim.  The first one made my head hurt trying to play it lefty to see what the action was doing.  This one, I put on the four long strings in right hand configuration.  So I was able to play some chords to get a feel for the action and sound.  I tweaked the truss rod a bit, adjusted the notches in the nut, and got the right height bridge selected.  Then set it up lefty and it's ready to go.



Maybe Jim will do a sound sample of it.

Lovely!!  But I must admit, it looks much nicer when I hold the lap top up to a mirror.
