In this, Tunetorial number 5, Dan "Clawdan" Levenson teaches Angelina Baker. Also known by the tune name Angeline the Baker, this tune is often played at jam sessions and festivals all over. It is one of the most often played tunes! Many folks also reverse the parts from the way they were written years ago (as attributed to Stephen Foster) but the video plays them in the “original” order. Don’t get fussy though, your group may do it the other way, and if so, so be it.
In this and all of the Tutorials, Dan plays the tune three times through up to speed then slow starting with a basic version and building to an advanced one. Then Dan plays the basic version and breaks it down phrase by phrase. Same with the advanced.

Dan & Eric,
I did not find the song (or tabs) for Angeline the Baker in Dan's book Old Time Favorites for Clawhammer banjo! Please confirm if this is correct.

Yes. Ryan is correct. Thanks Ryan. Page 10, second time in the book. Listed as Angelina baker which is the same tune or an "aka" as noted above. Please let me know if your book is missing that.
BTW folks it is also one of the teaching tunes from then"Clawhammer Banjo From Scratch"

PS, Tom, Are you perhaps looking at Old Time Festival Tunes and not Old Time Favorites? Sorry the titles are so close.

Dan,
My mistake. I was looking at Old Time Festival Tunes for Clawhammer Banjo not the Old Time Favorites for Clawhammer Banjo. Guess I will need to purchase that one too!

Lots of fun tunes it it. I'm sure you will enjoy it too. I'm working through that book for the tutorials so you'll be able to use it a lot with this series of tunetorials.
Play Nice,
Dan
