Last year I picked up two old-ish Deering 5 strings - a Basic and an Intermediate.  Both precursors of the Boston line.  The Boston steel rims are a bit harsh sounding to my ear, so I replaced both steel rims with my own wood block rims.  And in both banjos I added Bill Rickard tone rings - a tubaphone and a white lady.

Before I could get them back together, I traded one of the standard length necks to Pastor Harry for a Deering long neck.  And now they are for sale.

Here's the long neck.  Comes with the a tbaphone tone ring, Deering reso and flange plates so it can be a bluegrass player and with a new Goldtone gig bag,

$750 plus $35 for shipping in ConUS only.

Dan, Tooooo cheap! These are three times the Bostons at one third the price. If they don't sell immediately, someone ain't watching.  Paul
