I have been working on some pretty serious music lately, so when I got frustrated with that I would turn to something that was just fun like this one. Panhandle rag is also in the bluegrass repertoire, though played a lot faster and more 2/4. I played in some swing groups a while back, mostly when I lived in Santa Fe New Mexico, and Bob Wills music was always sure to get the dancers on the floor back there!

Paul, that route down through Chama is some of the most beautiful country anywhere. Makes me want to take the trip with you just talking about it! Thanks for the reminder...

Takes me right to Texas (though I've never been there). Your swing band sound is full and marvelous, Laurence. I'm just about to read a chapter on Bob Wills in a book by Charles Wolfe called The Devil's Box. Listening to his music here will help me get in the mood.

Yes, that's correct. I rendered the bass and drums as separate tracks. loaded them into Audacity for some minor edits then added the gtr etc. The style does include some piano and gtr but they don't sound that great (midi).

Thank you all for the comments! I am glad you enjoyed a little bit of Bob Wills music. I actually used to dance (many years ago) and this was some of my favorite music to dance to, in the western swing style.
