I'm trying to obtain any information I can about a 1940's or 1950's B & D Seville tenor banjo that I inherited from my father who inherited it from his brother-in-law. Attached are some pics.

Remove the resonator if you can. Look for marks on the dowel stick that may indicate it was made by the Bacon Banjo Co - Groton, CT. There might also be a serial number like the one in the attached photo. If those marks are present, your banjo would have been made prior to 1938 ... before Gretsch took over production of the Bacon products. A serial number can also help determine the approximate date of production.
