I've been playing it for a while with a Remo Renaissance head, but I've been thinking about putting a skin head on it for more warmth. Good idea or bad idea?
Also has anyone tried the Remo Fiberskyn 3?

I haven't tried the Remo head, but if you're thinking about a hide head contact John Balch (member here). His goat and calf skin heads can't be beat. I have three of them and couldn't be happier.

Highly recommend skin, it adds a richness that no plastic head achieves for me

Go for it Dude, should sound awesome. I would caution that you should search the hangout archives for views on the effects of humidity if your home has large rapid changes in this regard. But hey, it's easy to cope with once you know what to do.
All the best from Bill. :D

Do it. I danced around the idea of it for like two and a half years and finally did it - SOO worth it.

I just removed the Vega 2-Star skin head on on my Little Wonder conversion and installed a Renaissance. While I liked the sound of the skin, I liked the sound of a Renaissance on my Tubaphone better and wondered if it was the pot or the head. I will know more in a few days as the Renaissance heads take a long time to stretch in.
Preliminary impressions are that it is a lot brighter and not nearly as thuddy. In fact, it sounds a lot more like my Tubaphone. You do have to monitor the skin head as the humidity changes, but I did not find that too excessive. The problem is I have no idea how much tension a skin can take compared to a plastic head, so I probably was a little too conservative in tightening.
