Hi all,
Just wanted to draw your attention to a book that was recently put out by myself and Fiddler Katie Trautz called "Side by Side". It includes Banjo tab and Fiddle notation for a number of tunes and has two cds for your listening pleasure. One cd had each instrument playing the tune slowly, the other is a more up-tempo version with both instruments. It's a great way to learn some tunes on either, or both, instruments.
Would love some feedback or questions. There is a short audio attached that will give you an idea as to the audio format. Go to the classified page for some more info.
Thanks,
Tom

I bought a copy a few weeks ago. I haven't had much time to spend with it, but so far I am very pleased. The arrangements for both instruments seem very nice & well thought out and the duets on the CD sound great.
Recommended.

Tom and Katie have put together a really nice collection of tunes here and presented them in a way that makes for a great learning tool. Tom's slow recordings of the tabs are really easy to follow, and the tunes themselves have very nice arrangements.
I'm not a fiddler, but having the slow fiddle versions on the CD makes it really easy to pick up a new tune, too.
An added bonus is the 2nd CD with Tom and Katie playing the tunes at a moderate clip--it makes for some mighty fine listening, and is worth he price of admission by itself!
I shall be recommending this collection to my students, Tom. Kudos to you and Katie!
Cheers,
ZEPP
