I liked your melodic twists in there Royce! All these versions show how much room there is to improvise with the melody and how each player adds their own vibe. This is what sound0off is all about.

I'm gonna try to get something up here in the next day or two. I had to play a couple tunes in church last Sunday, so (as nervous as I get) I played absolutely nothing but those two tunes for the last week. If I can get the melody in my head, I'll take a crack at it.

Alright -- here it is in all its glory.  Not so clean, but I worked on it for about 2 hours last night, and recorded on my way out the door for work this morning.  I like the tune though - -thanks for keeping this thread going guys!

Bro Rick, mighty Slick!..Really like the "tint" that tuning has on yours man. The melody was in tact all the way through to my ears. Has a minor flavor in places as well like John B's. That 4 chord coloring was WILD.. Enjoyed it!

As my modest vid states... i was inspired to learn this tune last night (i'm still in me jammies) after Rick Hayes jumped in with a neat Double C version. "Course... i credit (or blame) Big JOE MAC with creatin' this Black Mountain Madness... so i guess we're all under his control (spooky.. huh?). I done the best i could on short notice... so i kept it basic, realizing that finger picks n' me are sorta strangers.
Anyway, it was fun and here's the vid for the thread here.
P.S. Joe asked me to post this here... but i feel way outta my league with the likes of Mr. McIlvinny, Mr. Hum, and The KRazy Kidd:-)

Ken I always admire your ability to pickup a tune in such a short time.  Last year I aimed to try to expand my repertoire.  Already knowing the basics of picking I figured I could learn a song a week.  Turned out to be more like a song a month!
