Hi all. I don't usually post in this part of the hangout but I sure could use your help. I have come across the above Youtube clip ( don't know how to embed it so it shows) of a CH tune that I would like to learn. However the poster doesn't know the name of the tune. Does anyone recognise it and if so, is there a tab for it?

Thanks

Wayne

I couldn't give you a title but put your banjo in Sawmill tuning and maybe learn a couple of the more ancient old time tunes like Nonesuch off a tab and you'll have a lot of partial phrases you can learn to build up this tune.

You might want to get in touch with Ken Perlman for a title. He know more about Cape Breton tunes than most US banjo players, and might well know some Cape Breton banjo players who could help you out.

Have you already asked Paul for the name of the Gerald Trimble album he learned it from?  It might give you a place to start.  He's here on the hangout: Paul Roberts
