I just received a new tackhead banjo built by Nate Calkins. If you're in the market for a tackhead, you should check out the banjos Nate is producing. This banjo was very reasonably priced. Nate patiently answered all my questions, and then finished the banjo on time (despite his wife delivering a baby during the process). The banjo plays great and sounds awesome. Here's a few sound clips. The recording quality is low, since I just recorded with the built-in mic in my laptop (if anyone wants to send me a Zoom H2, my address can be found on my homepage). This banjo sounds much better in person than than in these recordings, but hopefully you can get an idea. I just started with the fretless thing, so don't judge too harshly.
Here is my review of this banjo.

Thanks Jason for the compliments and posting in the forum. i'm so glad you like the banjo ,and Nice Playing!
(Just for the record, i wasn't actually IN the banjo shop while my baby was being delivered!) but i did find some
time to sneak in here and there in the weeks following to finish up Jason's banjo.
