Announcing
The 14th Annual Banjo Collectors' Gathering
Nov. 3-6, 2011
Waltham, MA
(at Rt 128/I-95 -- west of Boston)
The Gathering is a weekend-long banjo extravaganza,
running from Thursday evening, Nov. 3 -- to Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6.
Presentations by leading banjo scholars, will focus on: African Roots, The Minstrel Era,
The Classic Era, and contemporary reproductions.
Hundreds of rare vintage banjos will be on display -- including many for sale.
Events will include:
o An 'insiders' look at the instrument collection of the Boston Museum of
Fine Arts -- home of the Consalvi "King" banjo, the most ornate 19th
century banjo extant.
o A preview of Marc Field's comprehensive "Banjo Project" video.
o History and personal reminiscences of the Arthur E. Smith Banjo Co.
by co-founder Kate Spencer.
o Jim Bollman will host small-group tours of his unparalleled collection of
19th C. banjos, toys, photographs, and collectibles. (Signup required)

The Hilton Garden Inn is conveniently located off Exit 27a of I-95 / Rt-128
which is the inner ring road just west of Boston.
Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.

Identify yourself with the Banjo Collectors Gathering, and code BAN11 (one, one) for a special room rate of $105 per night single or double occupancy. A limited number of discounted rooms are available on a first come, first served basis -- so we recommend that you make reservations early.

The registration fee for the Gathering is $225. As always, we recommend signing up early to avoid disappointment, as we can only accommodate a limited number of participants.
