Does this spelt bread look green to you? I'm a bit worried about it! Do you think it's safe to eat?

Wow, bread that makes its own cheese! What will they think of next?

Looks like Aspergillis (fungus) to me. Quite a crop!
Aspergillosis is a fatal lung infection in fowl/chickens.
Not something to snort up your own beak, either.

After looking at that I'm pretty sure that my face looked green.

Nah....its okay.
I got that same stuff between my toes and when I chew my toe nails, I never get sick. My wife does...but it doesn't bother me at all.

Green, green, it's green they say,
On that fine old loaf of bread!
Green, green, aspergillius green,
And one sniff can make you dead!

If I may..... add my 2 cents.... my gran told me once that I should never use a wooden cuttin board. She said it hoards bacteria that you cannot get out. I use a glass one. It cleans up easily- I usually put it in the dishwasher. Just sayin'. And yes- it looks green. And no- I wouldn't eat it. :)

At least you know what that bread is doing. We have a loaf of store-bought sandwich bread that is in the kitchen, and is 6 months old and there is no sign of fuzz or green, etc. What is in that stuff nowadays for preservatives. Doesn't matter, though, I ain't eating it.
