It's here, and it is killer! My banjo just arrived and I could not be more pleased. I really feel that I should mention that besides Dan's extraordinary skills as a luthier and player, he is also one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I highly recommend Dan for any banjo related project that you might have, because DAN IS THE MAN!

Thanks again Dan, and thanks to everyone else who viewed and participated in this incredible thread.

I'd like to again thank each of you for reading and commenting on Restoring 1850. Your many kind comments here at the end of this journey have been personally overwhelming, you are all so kind!

I am planning on building a limited run of reproductions of this banjo. If anyone would be interested in owning one of these, please contact me. I am planning on building the prototype here on the Hangout.

Dan, thanks again for this informative thread. I have learnt so much and it's been so inspiring. The finished result is stunning and the sound clip takes me to a place that feels like it just might be back in time! I'll be keeping an eye on any banjos you build - proto types etc, so please keep us updated on any news or progress. Thanks again.

As a little update for the new (upcoming post).

I've decided to build 3 or 4 banjos during this first go round. Two of this run of banjos have been spoken for. One (the proto-type) will be going to David Emery and a second will be going to the Land Between the Lakes, HOMEPLACE 1850's. This instrument is to be constructed from wood harvested on LBL land.

Today I posted a couple of tunes. As I worked today I listened to my CD THE POSTHUMOUS WORKS OF PETER DAVID QUINN BOETTCHER. I figured that I'd post a couple of cuts here for y'all to enjoy.

This is my first release of CHANDANS WALKAROUND. I forgot to check but I think this was released in 2000.
