so i've been thinking about the kind of banjo i'd like when it comes time to get a 2nd one (which will happen) i was wondering, what do you guys think of Sullivan banjos?

i've heard someone play one before and liked the sound, i plan on changing my last name to Sullivan (which i decided upon long before knowing anything about the Sullivan banjo company.) i think that would be pretty cool to have a banjo that shares your name.

i'd like a custom one, with several features i've seen...but what do you guys think?

I have only played one Sullivan banjo and I have to say I was very impressed by it. Both the workmanship and the tone was excellent.

Bandit, read my review of my new Sullivan Festival (posted 3/14/08), and you'll get my input. I think the Sully's are superb banjos, and exceptional values.

I have a Sullivan and I feel they are an excellent value for the price. Exceptionally well made and as good a tone as you'll find anywhere.

Right with you on that Jadie, I have a Greenbrier and would not trade it for the world. Great sound, up and down the neck; great looking; and well worth the money. I think most Sullivan owners agree.

I thought about 1700 and the buyer pays for shipping, but if this is to much, I would lower it some.

I have always thought that the Sullivans have the prettiest neck inlays.

Everytime I've been in Louisville, I've stopped in and played what they have on the wall. I always come away thinking the Sullivan's are the best. They don't really stock anything else other than Gibson but they usually have a Stelling or something else to compare. The price can't be beat nor can the workmanship.
