What is the ballpark value on an 84 Deering Maple Blossom?
TIA

It depends greatly on the condition of said banjo, but in good shape 1500.00-1800.00 respectfully.

Are you in the market for one or to sell one?

I've found one for sale locally. I haven't seen it in person yet, just same not so he-res photos. He said there's some buckle rash on the resonator, but it's not visible in the pics I have.

Not sure yet. I was just wondering so I could be a little more prepared when I actually go see it. I don't want to give too much, naturally.

Most Maple Blossoms I've seen on here have sold for ~$1400, some with minor upgrades (price tailpieces, etc.).

I've searched the classifieds and found a couple listed for near $2000 but they were more recent. I don't know what difference age makes. What's an '84 worth compared to a 2004? Looks like they're around $2700 new.

Some of the older 80's models have the 24 piece flange like the current Boston model. Maybe sure you're getting a 1 piece flange for those kind of prices...

Just wondering if you've had a chance to see it? I've been looking for a Deering and some of the used ones seem over priced for the condition they are in, and the retail seems alittle high too. I'm just trying to get an idea on what to look for in some used ones,
who's pickin the banjo here...............
