Below is a link to the new Otis Taylor CD (at CD NOW), Recapturing the Banjo. It is an amazing recording filled with great playing and singing, and the songwriting is a marvel as well. Though I have no great desire to learn OT or Clawhammer style, this recording might just change my mind. In any case, this album is definitely worth checking out.

I've had the CD for a couple of weeks now. It is very good. There is clawhammer, 3 finger picking, 2 finger picking, and 4 string plectrum picking on a tenor banjo. I like to listen to the tracks in a different order than the way the came. I like to go 10,11,14, 1,5,8 and then the rest. I'm especially impressed by Otis Taylor's daughter who plays bass and sings harmony. She is great! I look forward to more from her in the years to come.
The CD is an inspiration and has a lot of heart and soul.

My copy is on the way, and like you (after listening to samples) I may change the order as well. It seems very well recorded andd the playing is very good. I can't wait to get it.

They're not exclusively banjo, but you might want to check out his "Respect the Dead" and "White African" albums. There's a few banjo tracks on each that are just great.
Well, both albums are great on the whole. "Respect the Dead" has got to be one of the best things I've ever heard.
