I received my new Dogwood strap yesterday and as with my other experiences with David Schenck it is perfect. Exactly as I ordered, flawless strap, and a pleasure to do business with. Couldn't ask for anything better! Thanks Dave!

I took a look at the website & it does seem like an amazing resource. I would like a poll of what folks prefer as an attachment method. Do you like the rivets, chicago screws, or something else all together?
I'm worried about scratching my banjo with metal pieces. Let me know what works for you.

I have the Chicago screws on my 3 yr old Dogwood strap and have not experienced any scratching with them. I did apply a drop of Locktite on each to make sure they do not loosen over time.

I just received my strap w/ stitched ends. It sure is well made!! It's more comfortable than the bigger padded strap I had.

2yrs with mine and the Chicago screws are still not doing any damage. I also used locktite on mine to keep them tight.

I have two of David's straps now. I got one for Christmas from my mom, and the other came on a banjo that I bought used. Sold the banjo, and kept the strap! LOL![]()
David is a great guy to deal with, and supports the BHO and its membership!
Hey David, got the t-shirt this evening! Thanks for shipping it so soon!

I just got a message from Dave and he is making mine as we speak! Can't wait! I opted for the chicago screws also. Sounds like I'll need some locktite.

The best thing to use on the Chicago screw threads is clear fingernail polish. It will prevent the screws from loosening and still be easily removed with a screwdriver if you need to make a change. Also, get some of the self adhesive felt dots (Wal-Mart, Ace Hardware, grocery store, etc.) that are commonly used to put on the bottoms of lamps, etc. to keep from scratching table tops. Put them on the screw slot side and it will totally eliminate any scratching concerns. Dave

This is John Balch and me--both with our Dogwood straps. Mine has those heavy duty plastic clips on it and they work great. I don't like to take my brackets off--so I can clip right to them with no scratching my finish.
I've ordered two more straps--both with clips--to put on other banjos.
David is a great guy and these are awesome straps. ![]()

I didn't realize that you could get the Dogwood straps with the plastic clips for attachment, now I really want one! I prefer the clips because I take my strap off between playing as my banjo's case is very snug so no room for the strap if it's left attached. Gotta go check their website out again!

OK, I know I should be concerned about function, but I want something girly & pretty! When shopping for banjo straps, it's apparent that this is very much a male dominated field.
Folks, if I wouldn't wear it as a piece of clothing, why would I strap it onto my precious banjo? There is a huge market for a flowery pink suede strap. Who's with me?

Hi Misty,
I've got a really feminine original rose design which can be done in yellow or red roses. I'll try to post a photo later. Of course, the pink suede (or almost anything else) is certainly a possibility. The cost might be a bit higher since I would have to obtain a speciality leather which I don't normally use (and might never use again). I've attached some photos of a guitar strap I did for a Christmas present for a lady who likes Marilyn Monroe, needed a red strap with a little "bling" on it. Those are actually diamond cut crystals on the strap. Soooo, you can see, almost anything can be done.

As beautiful as those straps look in the above pictures they don't do Dave work justice.
When you get to see these straps in person they are true works of art as being very
sound straps. Happy New Year too all and Dave thanks for my belt and my strap.
May all your picking be true!!

Hello Misty,
Dave called me on my cell today and your talk on girly straps must have inspired him, because he asked if it was okay if he made my dogwood blossoms in color instead of the plain black. ![]()
Of course, you know--that is fine with me--love color--love girly.
You might consider something like that--the plain leather with colored flowers. ![]()
Also--he has that moc croc leather too--it would look good with croc cowgirl boots!
Best wishes,

Yeah Dave! You've re-visited your artistic side for sure!
I love Mary's straps. The dogwood design would look great on a natural color tan leather (or pink suede ). I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve!

Hello,
My colored dogwood strap is a beauty and I am very pleased with it.
So far, I have been wearing it with my new Lame Horse 6 string gitjo--and they really look great together.
I also got a moc croc strap and it is very elegant and beautiful too.![]()
Best wishes,
Mary Z. Cox
here is a pix of the strap and gitjo together--this is a cell phone pix with weird lighting--so it is hard to see details--but you can get the general idea.

I just received my new PINK OSTRICH Dogwood strap!
I love it & can't wait to show it off.
Dave, you’re a brave man for trying to figure out what women want. I think you just might be onto something here.
Thank you so much for my wonderful banjo strap. I adore it!
