Where Purchased: Tim Purcell
I picked up two bridges from Tim yesterday, an Organ & a Birch. Tim was very gracious & made my wife & I feel right at home. I again got to hear my banjo played by an accomplished picker. First he swapped out the popular, well known bridge on my banjo with the Organ bridge. The difference was remarkable, the banjo was much more open, I couldn't believe the difference. He then slid the Birch in place, and again a huge difference over the bridge I had in it. Again, more open and slightly different sound then the Organ bridge. I really like the improvement both bridges made. Tim's workmanship is meticulous. If you haven't slid a Purcell bridge under your strings yet, I recommend you give it a shot. You won't regret it, especially if you think your banjo can't sound any better........ 'cause it will.

Where Purchased: Arthur Hatfield
I had my first lesson with my Hatfield engine (pot assembly) in the banjo I built. My teacher said I "nailed it", showing his wife what he wanted for Christmas. He sure liked the sound and made it sing, thanks Arthur. While he was all over the neck, enjoying the "Hatfield" sound, his Mastertone Bowtie watched from it's stand.....a little jealous I do believe. I carefully chose a Hatfield based on Arthur & Beverly's reputation as much as the great reviews on their banjo's. It arrived not only weeks before expected, but even before my check cleared. I'm looking forward to the challenge of it gettin' the most out of me, and I'm takin' a lot of pride in packin' a Hatfield.

I'm a complete novice. The drum dial allowed me to tighten the head uniformly to "G", without any prior experience. No guess work, great tool.

I wanted a simple cradle strap, Huber had some good reviews, so I took a shot. I didn't expect to get such great quality;supple, quality leather, loops sewn neatly using heavy waxed thread. The basket weave is deep and nicely done. I'm glad I took a shot.

Where Purchased: Luthier Supply
I ordered a set of Hearts & Flowers for my build, with an eagle in the peg head. Andy answered all my questions, there were no surprises. They arrive user friendly, no 'cleaning up' the pieces, they have uniform thickness. Andy's inlay makes the best of a tedious job.

Where Purchased: Ron Barnes
I sent my tuners to Ron last Wednesday, so he could fit his custom "Dino Gumdrops". I got them back today, Monday, what a turnaround! They are a perfect match to the piece of binding I sent along, and perfect fit as well. They are beautiful, worth every bit of their purchase price. Ron knew exactly what I was looking for, great communication. I strongly recommend Ron when you get to shopping for new tuner buttons.
