Great tone without a full size tone ring. The note separation is great. Sounds like a banjo that would cost twice as much.

I bought it used but I think it still had the original strings and bridge. I upgraded the bridge to a Scorpion and changed the strings to Snuffy Smith's Almost Mediums. Other than that it plays like a dream.

The tuners work fine but are not a full 3/8 diameter and seem a little on the cheap side.

This is a monster of a banjo that has great playability for a reasonable price. The weight difference is huge and my back likes it a lot. A few little upgrades and I have no regrets. Zepp's is a great place to deal with.
