I'm a fingerstyle guitarist who became interested in playing the banjo recently. I never realized how naturally loud the banjo was until buying a new one and starting to practice with it. Even practicing lightly gave me a little bit of a headache as well as disturbing my family. Mike's Banjo Mute was an excellent solution. It gives the banjo a softer sweeter tone that I can practice with. I found the softer tone actually helps in my technique as well, since any lack of accuracy isn't masked by the loud resonance. Now I can practice in peace and save the full resonating sound of the banjo for when I use it in gigs. Very happy!
