Being a newbie to the banjo, or any instrument, I had no knowledge of mutes but had been ordered by the boss to find one asap. I thought my playing was coming along nicely but hayhow. Computer on lap asking it questions, reading reviews and watching youtube vids resulted in an order for Mikes Banjo Mute.
Did I make the right decision and is everyone in the house happier? Absolutely! on both counts. The mute not only makes the sound quieter but gives it a very mellow tone and it can be put on and off the bridge in seconds. In my very limited knowledge Mikes Banjo Mute does it for me and my wife which is more important.
