This circa 1900, small, 4-string, banjo was designed to play the melody in a banjo orchestra. It tunes like a violin. The sound is bright and loud to cut through a big band mix.

For it's age, this banjo is set-up and plays well. It has a very old calfskin head and vintage bridge. I may experiment with modern heads for a change.

This basjo features the patented "Improved" tone ring designed to compete with Fairbanks scolloped "elecrtic" models. It has a brass hoop atop beveled posts that extend from the wood rim.
