Okay, this is a banjo CASE. But it sounds solid when you thunk it !
Sound Rating: 10
Opens and closes smoothly. Latches all line up well. Hinges are smooth working.
Setup Rating: 10
Heavy, textured black vinyl covering. White nylon stitching. Brass finish hardware looks nice. Burgundy velour lining looks rich.

Hardware is by Providence Forge. Brass finish. Latch at center of neck has a key lock. Latches and hinges are heavy gauge, line up well, and fasten well. Case has three round brass finish 'feet' on underside, four on back end ( to stand case up, if you dare), and two on hinge side ( sets on these two and hinges when you set it down handle up ).
I would trust this case to give protection from any likely event.

Case is of three ply plywood with an arched top for more strength. Lining is a burgundy velour over a thick foam padding. Accessory box is generous sized, with a leather pull tab. Two neck supports. Handle is a double loop style padded vinyl with heavy stitching.
Can't find anything I'd like done better, except keys. It would be nice if they furnished two, not one ( See customer service, above ).

TKL makes cases for many instrument makers. Some retailers list them only as 'Canadian'. They make a great traditional style case at a good price. Their less expensive flat top cases have a pile lining, plastic suitcase handle, and padlock eye, but still give solid construction and protection. I have had five TKL cases and like them very much.
