Hello, I've just received a new Remo 11in head for the above banjo, but it seems far too small, So I'll be returning it. Does anyone know the exact size Remo head for this particular banjo?
There is a skin head fitted at the moment, which I want to replace for various reasons. I really don't want to use animal skin.
Thanks in anticipation.

Measure across the head inside the tension hoop.

Welcome to the joy of banjo head sizes where you cannot be off by even a 1/16th of an inch. Over the years I have accumulated a collection of busted heads in odd sizes. When I (finally) get the head of the right size for the banjo needing a new head, I mark the busted head with that dimension and keep it so I can trial fit with the old heads of known sizes in the future.

Best of luck!

Fitting modern parts to obsolete banjos is always a challenge. The recommendations of the other posters are spot on.

As 11-1/6" heads are not a common inventory item for most music shops, I thought it a good idea to let you know I have a reasonable selection in stock. Click here
