I was 13 or 14 and my parents took us on vacation to Williamsburg, Va. I bought a wooden fife and learned to play it from the little instruction manual (which had 18th Century military fife tunes). This was the early to mid 70s and "Masterpiece Theater" was on the TV regularly. The theme was Mouret's and I learned it by ear very quickly and could play along with the TV.
Over the years, I've heard a couple of banjo attempts but you do the best job I've run across. Well done!
Thanks very much. It's a fun tune to play and falls perfectly on the banjo.
Really nice. I’d like to hear a recording with less reverb. Your playing is lovely and doesn’t need it.
