I love my GoldTone AC-1 so far, so it's not a case of starting with a poor quality banjo. Plus I already own three other instruments:
- My alto sax from middle and high school
- A tenor sax I bought in college
- An electric bass guitar I bought earlier this year
I suppose it partially has to do with me being resonator-curious and 4 string plectrum-curious and not having much opportunity to try out either (especially the latter), but it still feels very weird to me. I don't think of myself as a greedy person.

Don't feel alone. Many of us have various instruments, it's just part of being a muscian or being musical minded.
I have a clarinet, tenor sax, piano, autoharp, dobro, upright English type bass, acoustic-electric bass, mandolin and 3 banjos. That's not being greedy, just someone who wants to try different instruments and see how they play and sound.
Oh, and I forgot, 2 Martin guitars.

I guess no one told you when you got into all this, but banjos are agents of mind control. They are herd animals that NEED company and they will project "banjo aquisition thoughts" into your brain until you give up. You can either surrender now or later but surender you must – not "if," only "when." banjered
