Looking for a starting point and I love Allen’s approach. Apparently there was a tab published in the July 1990 issue of Banjo Newsletter but I don’t have that one. If anyone has that issue and is willing to sell a copy…

I paper tabbed Allen's version of Birth of the Blues right after the LP came out way way back. It's a pretty easy one to do yourself really, but in time, I'll put it into Tabledit with both breaks included....Jack Baker

Thanks Jack. I’ve got the first break worked out this afternoon…haven’t gotten to the second break yet and will also work something out that’s chordal…for a song like this a good swinging chordal break would be perfect…hard part will be playing it…all those full 9th and 7th chords and the transitions…gonna have fun with this one.
If you ever get that second break tabbed out…much appreciated.

Every now and then back issues of BNL (sometimes complete sets) come up for sale here at reasonable prices. they are worth having.
