When I bought my Stelling Golden Cross from Elderly Instruments (I visited their shop in MI) in 1996, it had a (printed on it) "Schmued/Stelling Banjo Pickup - Manufactured by Stelling Banjo Works" installed in it. I took it out since I knew I would never use it.
Online searches (AI) tell me Stelling never used a Schmued, which is false, of course, since I have one.
Has anyone else here seen or used one or even have one? If so, what might it be worth? How effective was it?

i have heard of schatten banjo pickups but not Schmued..... you may have a rare bird there.
