Some years ago someone showed me a banjo with an internal resonator that was originally a silver serving tray.
Little bit of engraving on it looked quite good.
Crafty! I have seen something similar in a photo that. Tidy job.

If you haven't had any success yet finding one. I can make you one. I'm not keen on making one to go in an existing banjo unless I have the banjo in hand to work with. I would prefer to make a new banjo with a custom plated tone ring. I can easily convert one of my existing banjos but they all have resonators permanently attached.
Hi. Thanks for that offer. Someone on here has sent me a wooden disc that was inside the pot of their banjo. I'm currently trying to work out how to attach it to mine. I'll see how it goes!
