It's an Oscar Schmidt from around 1910. One of the cheapest of the cheap banjos. Likely you can get it to be playable by setting up with Nylon strings.

Not firewood but a nice little project for someone.

This arrived missing its tuners, some frets, a nut, and a tailpiece. I love it. Needless to say, it sounds like a banjo.

I guess it might be the same maker.

It has all its hooks and nuts, and intact head, and a tailpiece. What's not to like for a little restoration project to pass the winter?

I presume the neck is intact and all the frets are there. You need tuners obviously. Can't tell if you need a nut or not. A bridge is no big expense. Probably should buy the shortest one you can find to start.

Have fun with it.
