I pulled the fleece off of my Levy Banjo Cradle Strap. I found that a small piece cut to fit the width of the bridge and folded in half fits nicely under the strings behind the bridge and cuts overtones when needed. I also found a little larger cut piece fits nicely in front of a half inch bridge and takes all the ring away making a plunk plunk sound that will come in handy for those who must practice with a high level of muteing. I have done this on of my Wildwood banjos and they are extradinarily quiet. You can hear the note clearly but there is immediate decay. I hope this helps someone who needs to play but has not found a way to be quiet enough. Doing this takes a little more time than installing the excellent Mikes Banjo Mute but, it is a mighty enhancement to that fine tool.
