Bluegrass Today has a Sept 15 article about a 12 year old young lady banjo picker whose 1970 Iida archtop in plain black case was lost or stolen at the Earl Scruggs Festival.
Readers in the are NC/SC area are asked to keep an eye on Craigslist, eBay, Facebook marketplace, pawn shops, etc. for this young lady's banjo.
Contact banjo teacher Trey Hodge in Forest City NC if you get any leads. He's currently working to get her a replacement banjo.

How terrible. I hope they find the banjo and bring it back to her.
I hope that the banjo is found. It's bad enough if someone stole it but to steal from a 12 year old is horrible. My best friend had a guitar stolen from a bluegrass event years ago and it is a sickening feeling to realize that it's really gone.
A 1970 Iida Archtop is worth like 300 bucks, at best.
I bet if she made a gofundme and posted it here she'd be able to replace it within a couple weeks.

They have already done that and raised $1750. May turn out to be the best thing that has happened to the young lady, as she should get a much better banjo. Good for her!
