I recently bought a 1986 Wildwood Paragon resonator banjo and was wondering how to adjust neck relief. It doesn't have a truss rod cover on the peghead or on the heel of the neck. I'm clueless. Would love to hear from other Wildwood owners.
You have to remove the neck from the rim to get to the truss rod. Some makers, me included, install their truss rods that way to prevent careless bungling. Some people just love to crank on the truss rod to fiddle with the action. That's an easy way to break one. No one is going to go to the trouble of removing a neck to adjust the truss rod unless there is a genuine need to do so.
I owned a paragon a long time ago. It’s a nice banjo.
Mine had a non-adjustable truss rod. Bet yours does too.
Also, curious how do you know it’s a 1986 banjo? Wildwood banjos have no serial numbers. Is there a date on it?
