I have a micro lathe for doing various jobs for my banjo repairs. I have a specific application where I need a free rotating "chuck" that I can insert into my tail stock drill chuck so it can hold a small piece of metal and rotate with the main chuck!
I have a attachment called a 'steady rest' but don't feel it will give me sufficient stability.
My question is, is there such a device?

Thanks Verne. They don't make them without the morse taper??
Not that I am aware of, but from what I can see of the construction it would be possible to turn the taper straight. There are several New Zealand machinists on you-tube who might be interested in doing that for the video content.
