We had to go to Winfield this week on some family biz (an hour away). The BG festival officially begins on the 16th, but the fairgrounds were already nearly packed with rv’s , campers, etc. This giant BG festival draws or used to draw 10,000-15,000 pickets and listeners. Aw the memories of a week or two of pickin, grinnin, and drinking. I even baptized my daughter in the river when she was a few years old.

A man on a mission!
I absolutely LOVED the festival, and went every year. One day tickets were maybe 10 bucks. The last time I went, one day tickets were $65, so $130 for my wife and I and that didn’t include festival priced food. This year, it’s $90 per person for a day. So $180 for my wife and I. And she’s not that much of a bluegrass fan. I’m sorry, but too much for my old retired ass.
Dean, sad to say, but I have been for years. And yes, I spent too much time in the pecan grove, even tent camped down there. I am not sure when we slept? The yellow canoe camp was where much of the old time music jams were. Brad
