Does anyone have any idea what the thread is for the knob screws on a pair of Kluson cam-style D tuners? I have a pair that I bought somewhere a long time ago thinking that I just needed a pair of screws to hold them together. Now that I have a banjo to put them on, I can't find any screws that small. If I knew the thread gauge, I might have a decent head start trying to find screws.
Even if you don't have a screw to test and match, Ace is still the place.
If these Klusons are like other tuners, you might be looking for a #4. Pretty sure that's what I bought about 10 years ago when I needed replacement. Don't remember knowing the thread. But it didn't take much testing of screws to find the right one.
I can't tell you the exact size, but I can say I also have those Klusons and was in the same conundrum when I was looking for a thread chaser for them. I went to my local Ace hardware which has template guides, male and female, where you can match the right size bolt or nut you need. I would perhaps suggest your local hardware store and if nothing else they may be able to find your size by matching it with a nut or bolt.
