Yeah… there are so many! I thought I had a pretty cool arrangement of “Mothers Little Helper” by the Stones, but couldn’t sell it to the rest of the band lol.

Almost every Tom Petty and a few Bruce Springsteen songs seem to work…

We also took a mostly unsuccessful stab at “Sweet Leaf” by Sabbath — but I’m not giving up on them — I’ll find one that (semi) works sooner or later!

My old bar band did this a lot. Sublime- What I got, Dire Straits- Walk of life, Georgia Satellite- Change in my pocket, JZ- 99 problems, CCR- Looking out my back door, are a few I remember, of lots more. We also had to cover the Mumford and Sons stuff that was out at the time. Fun times!

Depending on the circumstances, at some of our mostly BG/OT/Classic Country jams [performance, circle, coffee house style], I sometimes quietly  "request" Great Balls Of Fire as the guy approaches the hot seat, or takes too l-o-n-g making up his mind.  Earlier this summer, be darned if a guy didn't respond by playing it [... on his ee-lek-trick guitar].  Back to the drawin' board, I guess.

i play lefty and in last band i had to stand on the stage left because the fiddle player had a thing  about being on the right ,,so me and the guitar player had to be on our toes so not to cross light sabres.
