I'm starting to plan on tackling a Carver minstrel banjo kit ... sometime.... Maybe this winter.
I'm pretty adept at most things around the farm like welding and such, but finer woodworking has never been my forte.
Decided to give this a go instead of buying something pre-made. It's not much but reminded me how to do things like sanding and more precise cuts and planning. Probably the most complex thing is the wooden plugs covering the over sunk heads of the toggle bolts.
Staining and sealing it did make me think about how I would finish the wood on said banjo kit...

True oil gunstock finish might be nice.
