Thanks for posting this. Great stuff! I'm a huge Billy fan. Just when I think Billy can't impress me any more than he already has, he does just that!

Dang. And I missed a chance to hear and maybe meet him in Ionia. He's a local and I've followed his career since he was quite young. Heard him a couple times at small festivals. But at the Ionia Fair, he went over and played at the Pyramid Scheme Heavy Metal tent. Not that I'm a fan of Heavy Metal, but my next door neighbor at the cottage in Manistee is the owner of Pyramid Scheme. I'm sure I could have weaseled myself backstage. One of my nieces went to high school with him and would tell about the times that he was homeless and would just quit coming to school. All the kids knew what was going on with him and would worry about him. Great to see someone rise above the turmoil and appreciate their escape.

I appreciate how Billy rises above poverty and adversity and is becoming an icon ... kind of what Dolly Parton did and went through. Billy tells of his adversity but that there was a lot of love in his life despite the hardships. Dolly was the same.

I think those who rise above poverty seem to have a level of empathy and love that money can't buy. So may as well help those around you.

My personal opinion is we have a lot to learn from the likes of Dolly Parton and Billy Strings...

well i came from a poor situation but the one thing i have learned from both of them was "i should  have practiced a lot more".

Billy keeps showing us what a big heart he has.
The first time I heard about him was when he donated a couple hundred guitars to school kids.
