I posted my Tablature of Chet Atkins' "Ready For The Times To Get Better" after Chuck had just posted a version of this tune and this is what this post is about. I wrote to Chuck Van Dyke via private mail and begged him to believe Me, that He was mistaken. He emailed back and is still convinced that I was trying to upstage him with my posted tabs that He may have also posted. I assured Him that this was absolutely not true. Chuck did apologize for the comments.
I have been posting different ways of playing songs by "Others" such as Jan from Sweden, Michael Corcoran etc. etc. who have posted different versions of my tabs and I welcome that as they have been doing the same to many contributors of tabs since BHO began. Chuck apologized for his crude comment in a personal email to me but He still insists that I am trying to upstage Him.
Why on Earth would I want to do that since most of His offerings are beginner to intermediate level. Chuck's tabs are of great value to many people on BHO so I am stunned that He will not back down from that opinion of Me. If enough people believe Chuck over my response to him on BHO, then please post it and I will remove all of my tabs forever as I will not be called a "Fraud" on an internet site as large as BHO...thank you all....Jack Baker

Oh, Jack. Let's not start a feud between two members who post tabs. I'm sorry it got to this point. It should not go any further. If you and Chuck have a problem, take it OFF line and leave it there.
I'll give the same suggestion to Chuck: Keep your feuds OFF line or both will have time outs.
This is a friendly, family oriented site and we want to keep it that way.
As a final thought: don't be so sensitive as to what someone else thinks. It's no one's business but his and yours and should stay OFF line.
MarkDouglas - I agree. I love both Chuck and Jack's TABS. As a 'plateaued intermediate,' I love starting with Chuck's straight ahead approach and then seeing what other ornamentation or phrasing or licks I can learn from Jack. Both folks are valued members of the banjo world. :)
In my opinion….. Jack and Chuck are two “old school “ aficionados that love both the music and the instrument! Both are passionate about what they do!
And both are very talented!
Moreover, if they blow off some steam once in a while……well, they’ve earned
that…LOL
