I found this version of Gentle on My Mind sung by Cody Johnson that I’ve wanted to learn.
Most versions I’ve found of this tune are played in G, but his guitar/banjo player is picking it in an C chord shape, anyone got any advice or guidance to playing in this way? Thanks!

John Hartford had a Homespun video where he played it in C.
It was easy enough to watch his left hand. I dunno if someone has put it on YT.
