I am wanting to pull apart this tuner to see why it isn't working. I managed to remove the location pin but turning the barrel (I assume it is threaded) is proving problematic.
Any thoughts?
It is a light press fit then swaged, no threads. If you manage to get it apart, it will be a contest to get it back together. Can be done, but it's not easy and sometimes it won't stay together very well.

Thanks Verne. I did a search online and they appear to be made not to come apart. I do have another I obtained decades ago that appears to have been disassembled and reassembled with solder sealing the joint. I guess it will be a rainy day project.
An older one may be hard to pull apart. I've had a couple of the newer ones pull apart, so I quit using them. I did put them back together by applying a little pressure. I then took a spring-loaded metal hand punch and punched the brass groove along the bottom inside edge about 8 times in a circle. It worked.

Sounds like too hard work for just one peg.
