long time lead vocal for the nashville bluegrass band pat enright has passed away.... one of the greatest voices ever in bluegrass,,,,,
RIP Pat. I enjoyed his work when I saw Tasty Licks years ago.
I only saw him once, long ago, with The Phantoms of the Opry. I wondered how a Bay Area band found someone who was actually a real bluegrass singer. Such singers (Herb Pedersen was another.) usually don’t stay long around San Francisco, and Enright did not.
first time i noticed him was with the dreadful snakes... they were an awesome band.... but when he joined up with alan after backing up minnie pearl and formed NBB ,, he really shined with his and alans harmonies.

Thinking a lot about Pat Enright, as he transitions to the next world…and how lucky we were to have/know him - he showed me and Schatz what real bluegrass was all about. They won’t make another like him! Tasty Licks, Dreadful Snakes and Nashville Bluegrass Band were lifted up by his deep and unique musical gifts.
Loved Pat, one of my favorites. :(
