Banjo fans..Im posting an old recording (1985) of two tunes by Sousa.
I recently found this recording of the Sousa tunes which features Mary Levine, a staff pianist with “The American Ballet Theatre, New York..Her Husband, Joe was the conductor for many years.
Jazz and military marches are relatives.

"Under The Double Eagle" was composed by Josef Franz Wagner (1856–1908), an Austrian military bandmaster. He also carried the nickname "The Austrian March King." The march was composed in Graz in 1890.
Although it is an Austrian march, "Under the Double Eagle" quickly gained worldwide popularity, especially in the USA and it was included in the repertoire of the famous John Philip Sousa Band.
Here´s my own version of this composition. Maybe you like it...
