I will be adding binding (top and bottom) to a resonator. Does anyone have any suggestions for jigs to keep the bit vertical? I’ll be using a Dremel on a precision router base. I thought I might design and 3-d print a support jig, but wanted to ask here first.
Thx

This is the attachment that I made for routing for binding on the mini banjo resonators that I build. I cut a piece of thick wood that has a curve surface to match the curvature of the resonator and mounted it to the router base. The jig is moved a little bit at a time, to expose the router bit, until the desired binding depth is achieved.

Thx. That’s the sort of thing I was thinking of. It helps to see a real example.

Always pays to scribe the wood with a marking gauge at the border where the binding will sit to reduce tear out from the router bit.
