We've got 50 something Muscovies running around to eat bugs and we'll butcher the extras this winter. I was just watering them with rubber pans but it was turning into an awful mud pit.
Came up with this thingie where they can still dunk their bills but cant get in it. It also runs on a float valve so it stays topped off. Been moving it around every 2-3 days and it's been a godsend.
I'll admit that I hadn't given it a lot of thought, but I never knew that ducks were clearing their bills/nostrils/eyes/etc. https://www.google.com/search?q=why+do+ducks+wiggle+their+heads+under+water+when+drinking%3F&rlz=1C1CHBF_enCA1116CA1116&oq=why+do+ducks+wiggle+their+heads+under+water+when+drinking%3F&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIKCAEQABiiBBiJBTIHCAIQABjvBTIHCAMQABjvBdIBCjI1MTg4ajBqMTWoAgiwAgHxBfzVzBOaN1uZ8QX81cwTmjdbmQ&sourceid=chrome&source=chrome.rb&ie=UTF-8
