Looking for someone that can build a banjo neck for me. I was saving up for a Tim Davis, but I can’t seem to get ahold of him. Any suggestions?
I’m in the Asheville area.

Eric Sullivan (Sullivan Banjo), though people report him as being tough to get a hold of lately.

Richie Dotson in Midlothian, Virginia. (Acousticbox LLC)

Don Bryant and Ron Coleman,  here on the Hangout. Use the Member search to find them.

Clancy Mullins, also here on the Hangout. He says he's retired but seems he has stuff to sell from time to time.

John Boulding in Mt. Airy might be able to make a neck.

You can also ask Chris Warner in southern Pennsylvania. He does excellent work, but doesn't advertise much.

I hope Tim is well, he is probably your best option for your location. Clancy is close but says he’s retired. There are several necks in the classifieds . Call Frank and Ricky Neat . Best of luck

Years ago the Bernunzios sold some of the Eastman necks made for their Whyte Ladie replicas. I bought a couple, and they are the higest quality, you can have (IMO), but I do not know if they still sell them. You can ask them. Steen

Gold Tone makes some excellent necks these days for a fraction of the cost of others. I've purchased several and have been very pleased.

I'm also very happy with the Gold Tone neck I bought last year.
Very good price and quality.

Gold Tone necks: https://goldtonemusicgroup.com/goldtone/products/parts?category_specific=necks&sort=az

Most are going to say Gold Tone. The Bela Fleck neck doesn't have to.

Some show a price with and without a heel cut. Sending your rim and tone ring for them to properly fit the neck is best.

Worth asking if the necks are available without Gold Tone inlaid

Gold tone necks like the OB3 have a painted logo with pearl inlays.
One could easily sand the paint away
Ask Gold Tone if they have any blems.
They do shop work like heel cuts
