English made, maybe "Reliance" Can you read the inscription on the peghead ?
The best I can tell after enlarging the image, the inscription looks like it says J Lawrence. Was there an English banjo maker by that name? I don't know British banjo makers as well as Americans. And I could be wrong with the name but, even when it's enlarged, it's not very clear.

The pot assembly is identical to George Houghton & Sons (GH&S) therefore British made. Unsure about the neck. All the Houghton banjos I have worked on have had a round dowel stick through the rim with a much more basic neck.
Can you post photos of inside the rim?
