my best guest from looking on ancestry sites is this is Cebert Purley Ward of Carroll County, Virginia. Born in 1887, son of Wiley Ward and Sarah Payne. But for all I know purley could have been a common name in the late 1800s. Real enjoyable to listen to. Or if anyone happens to know (or be) the Kevin Lundy that put these up, I would love to be put in touch with him.
Cebert's son Everett had moved to Mt Airy, NC so might be another connection there. Appreciate anything anyone might have to add. At the very least I recommend listening to these recordings . I added a mp3 of one them but there are 20 more on soundcloud

carlb indeed I believe you are right. That was the only unidentified track of 21. My mind was teetering between go tell it on the mountain and rollin in my sweet baby arms. Thanks!
