Well done. To echo Ken Perlman and Alan Jabbour, you can't beat the classics.
Two other fine versions of SJ: John McEuen (Clawhammering on Uncle Dave's banjer) and Earl (Earling on his) on the "Circle" album, and Mark "Clawgrass" Johnson with Emory Lester.

Tim,
Ken Perlman and I graduated from NYU at the same time with our Master Degrees. His was in Ethno Musicology and Mine was in Composition and Theory so many years ago...Jack

Jack,
I learned a lot from Ken Perlman -- starting with the ground-breaking Kicking Mule "Melodic CH" album, his various books, and his long-time BNL column. Ken's writing is as good as his playing! I got to thank him in a way by reviewing his fine "Classics" CD (w/ Alan Jabbour and Jim Watson) in BNL back in August of 2015.

Ken sourced out a lot of Prince Edward Island fiddle tunes and arranged them for CH banjo, as you guys probably know.
I had his neat book of fiddle tunes for fingerpicking guitar years ago; wish I still had it, it’s out of print last I looked.

Yes,
Ken is super talented at everything he plays in any Clawhammer or Bluegrass Banjo and Fingerstyle Guitar Style....Jack   p.s. NYU is considered to be one of the best Music Dept's in the Country...
